Where Dreams Rest
Where Dreams Rest
Where dreams go, we go.
A young Chinese woman crosses the US–Mexico border to chase her California dream. From her husband’s descriptions over the phone and her own imagination, A-Wei builds a beautiful, dreamlike California in her mind. But as she gets closer, step by step, she finds that a dream is best left as a dream: like a moth to a flame, the moment it touches the ground is the moment hope falls away.
Set against Chinese migrants crossing the US–Mexico border, the story explores the tangled bond between dreams and the dreamer. Placebo Studio designed the film poster for Elaine Wong.
